Yes, dog grooming can become somebody's profession and source of income. But I would be very wary of anybody selling professional training by promising you a particular salary or guaranteed business income.
How much a groomer earns depends on many things. Employment and self employment are different. Location, pricing, working hours, number of appointments, overheads, skill, speed and how a business is managed can all affect the outcome.
Learning to groom professionally is one part of the picture. Running a successful grooming business is another skill set altogether.
If your ambition is self employment, you will eventually need to think about pricing, costs, tax, customer experience, marketing, diary management and how many dogs you can reasonably groom while maintaining your standards.
That should not put you off. It should help you approach the career with realistic expectations.
The exciting thing about grooming is that you are learning a skill around which different careers and businesses can be built. The responsible way to begin is to focus first on becoming a competent professional groomer, then continue developing the commercial skills needed for whichever direction you choose.
